Jackie Evancho - Heavenly Voice of an Angel
68
Even before eleven-year-old Jackie Evancho starts singing we know that she will blow us away with her impeccable vocals and her pure angelic voice. It is hard to believe that such a voice can come out of that small body but that voice is real and a gem.
Jackie Evancho is a classical crossover artist singing both classical and popular music. Her popularity rose during her appearance on America’s Got Talent where she captured the hearts of millions with her stellar, magical performances of classical songs, including her duet with Sarah Brightman in the show’s finale - singing Time To Say Goodbye. Jackie Evancho’s videos of her performances on the show have gotten millions of hits. Her other videos have gotten a huge number of hits as well and the numbers just keep on growing.
Since appearing on America’s Got Talent Jackie Evancho has landed herself a record deal with Syco/Columbia Records and released three albums – O Holy Night (EP) in November 2010, Dream With Me (produced by the legendary David Foster) in June 2011, and Heavenly Christmas in November 2011. O Holy Night has been certified platinum in the United States and reached #1 on the Billboard Classical chart and #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Dream With Me has been certified gold in the United States and reached #1 on the Billboard Classical chart and #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Heavenly Christmas reached #1 on the Billboard Classical chart and #11 on the Billboard 200 chart. It has yet to earn a certification. All of these albums are on my wish list this year and I am looking forward to having them in my collection.
Having released successful albums is an amazing feat for this brilliant younger vocalist but what’s even more amazing is being the youngest singer to ever grace the stage of Lincoln Center. On November 7, 2011 Jackie Evancho performed a sold-out show at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, singing songs from her first full-length studio album Dream With Me, along with a few other songs, as part of her Dream With Me concert tour. Her set list included the following songs: Lovers (House of Flying Daggers), Ombra mai fu (Xerxes), The Lord’s Prayer, All I Ask of You (Phantom of the Opera), To Believe, O mio babbino caro (Gianni Schicchi), When You Wish Upon A Star, Angel – all from her Dream With Me album – and also A Time For Us and The Impossible Dream (Man of La Mancha). Every performance received a standing ovation and garnered the young singer loud applause. The audience was in awe of her vocals and so was I as I went to the concert myself. The high price I paid for the tickets was worth every penny because Jackie Evancho is unlike anything I’ve ever heard in my entire life. She has the voice of an angel – one that captivates my heart and touches me deeply. I am sure others will agree.
Jackie Evancho’s music career is just beginning. We will be hearing a lot about Jackie Evancho in the years to come, and there will be lots of beautiful music for us to enjoy and get lost in. There is no doubt about that.

If you don't believe in past lives, you may want to skip this.
I believe that one of Jackie Evancho's past lives was an opera singer name Helga Meyer.
Helga Meyer was born in Germany in 1942. As a young woman, Helga married an American and spent most of her life as a voice coach at Martha Washington College. She sang for a short time with the opera in Saltzburg, Austria. Many say her soprano voice was as beautiful as Maria Callas'. Helga recently died of cancer in Arlington, Virginia on April 4, 2000. God has allowed her spirit to sing again. Her spirit is the angel that we know today as Jackie Evancho.
