My Poem - Your Letters From The Sea

Poetry is such a creative art medium and an interesting, beautiful, and enjoyable way to express yourself, your thoughts, your emotions, and anything that is on your mind. It is a great way to document the happenings in your life and the world around you. It is like a snapshot of a moment in time that is captured with words rather than with a camera.

I love reading poetry by popular established poets and by those individuals who are amateurs or up and comers that might not have been heard of yet, or might not be so widely known.

Whenever I have the urge to read some poetry from people like me I go to sites like writing.com, authorsden.com, and gather.com. Those sites have lots of talented poets and lots of great poetry that I can enjoy, get something out of, and be inspired by as well. Some of these people even have poetry books in print, which is wonderful to know since I have my own poetry books in print as well.

I love writing poetry and I consider it to be my passion. I put myself into everything that I write and I hope that readers feel that as they read my poetry. Here is one of my poems that is fairly recent. I hope you enjoy it. Please leave some feedback when you are done. Much thanks.

An ink stained paper
With words lost in time
Flew onto the window
Of my darkening life.

The words were your story
Of your journey through time,
Of your days on that vessel
Slipping by from my life.

A skiff on a giant,
You waved your good-bye,
Got lost in the ocean,
Hid away from my eye.

And the memory of you
In the waters of ink
Are the stains I swim through,
To feel you, to think.
