One day while browsing for something to read in the library, I stumbled upon a book written by Luanne Rice called Summer Light – a book of love, loss, and forgiveness.

About Summer Light

Summer Light tells the story of a wedding planner, May Taylor, who lost her parents when she was young. May has a six-year-old daughter Kylie who possesses a unique gift; she can see and hear things that others cannot. Her daughter’s unique gift ends up uniting May with a hockey player named Martin, who becomes the love of her life. But things are not perfect. Martin’s relationship with his father is on the rocks as he blames his father for the accidental death of his daughter Natalie. Having May in his life helps Martin learn to cope with the loss and forgive those he loves.

It is reading this touching novel that I knew I had found my favorite author and since that day I have read all the amazingly wonderful books that Luanne Rice has brought to life. Her books focus on family, love, romance and relationships among people. There is something in each book that readers can relate to. The novels are beautiful, highly emotional, touching, powerful and very affective. They are filled with realism and a bit of magic too. Every novel is highly enjoyable and leaves a lasting impression on the reader, as has happened in my case.

It is not a surprise that Luanne Rice is a best-selling author and that a number of her books have been adapted for television. Be sure to check them out if you have not done so already.
