The Twilight Saga Novels

The Twilight Saga (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn), written by Stephenie Meyer, is one of the hottest book series to come out in recent years, having sold tens of millions of copies worldwide. If you have not read this best selling series, or at least heard of it, then you might have been living under a rock or been off somewhere in outer space.

This saga, which consists of four “vampire-based fantasy” romance novels, centers on the romance between Edward Cullen, a 104-year-old vampire and Isabella (Bella) Swan, a teenage girl from Phoenix, Arizona who moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father.

In each novel you get to live through their interesting romance that will draw you in from the very first page. There is a lot of action and drama taking place in each book and the story that unfolds, along with each character, is so interesting that once you start reading these books you will not want to put them down.

The story in each novel is relayed through the eyes and point of view of Bella Swan, with the exception of Breaking Dawn (the 4th book in the series), where part of the story is told through the eyes and point of view of her best friend Jacob Black (who happens to be a werewolf). That is definitely unexpected for readers as they are used to having Bella Swan tell the entire story, yet it is a rather interesting change, and it certainly does not lessen the quality of the novel; not one bit.

Those that have read all 4 novels in this popular series might be left craving for more. And while we wish that the Twilight Saga continued on, for now it sits idle with no new books coming out, at least not anytime soon.

At one point, Stephenie Meyer decided to write Midnight Sun, a companion book to the first Twilight novel Twilight, where the story is retold through the eyes of Edward Cullen, but when the rough draft of the first twelve chapters of the book got leaked on the Internet illegally, she decided to put this project on hold, so we will not be seeing this book anytime soon, if at all. But all hope is not lost, however, as it seems she has posted the twelve chapters of Midnight Sun on her website. That is great news for Twilight Saga lovers and fans, so be sure to head to her website and check them out.

If you haven't picked up the Twlight Saga books yet, you are missing out on owning a piece of pop culture history. You are going to love these books no matter what age you are. The books will grab you from the very first page and you will find yourself transported to the world of Bella and Edward that you will not want to escape from.

The Expansion of the Twilight Saga Phenomenon

With the Twilight Saga series being so successful, it is not a surprise that all the four books including the novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (companion to Eclipse) have been made into movies (with Kristen Stewart as Isabella Swan, Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black) that have become box office hits. Having read the novels, it is interesting to see how the movies actually relate to the novels, and the great thing is that the movies actually stay true to the books.

Stephenie Meyer is definitely a very talented and successful writer. She has created a book series that has become a pop culture phenomenon. Her best-selling books have been made into hit box office movies that will forever live on in the hearts and memories of those who have embraced this series for years.

While there are no more Twilight Saga books or movies, the legacy of Edward, Bella, Jacob and the rest of the gang lives on in jigsaw puzzles, movie guide companions, board games, and other memorabilia, some of which includes 2-disc special edition DVDs of the movies.
